Starting a company is a simple process if you have the right partner to help you. Setting up the company itself only requires the definition of share capital and a maximum of four activities that you will carry out.

However, there are other associated issues that are required together with both the Tax and Customs Authority and Social Security that have to be carried out within the legal deadlines by the certified accountant that the company will (compulsorily) nominate.

Another key point will be the opening of a corporate bank account (requiring the presence in Portugal of all partners) and the respective updating of the register in all public services.

Entrepreneurs from outside the European Union may submit a residence permit request in one of two ways: either through a D2 Visa submitted at the Embassy of the country of origin, or, being able to enter the Schengen area without requiring a special visa, by submitting an Expression of Interest in Portugal.
